The Las Vegas Raiders have waived veteran offensive tackle Justin Herron, just over 15 months after acquiring him in a trade with the New England Patriots. Herron, a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, had started 10 games over two seasons with the Patriots before being traded to the Raiders in December of 2022.
The Patriots, facing issues with offensive tackle depth due to injuries, could potentially consider claiming Herron off waivers. Both Conor McDermott and Riley Reiff are on season-ending injured reserve, Calvin Anderson hasn’t been seen since landing on IR in early November, and Tyrone Wheatley Jr.
has recently resumed practicing but has no previous offensive snaps in the NFL. Additionally, Trent Brown is dealing with multiple injuries, and Vederian Lowe has struggled in his opportunities.
