Good News: Cleveland Brown Key Player Confirm To Return From Injury

December 29 (UPI) Coach Kevin Stefanski informed reporters on Friday that wide receiver Elijah Moore of the Cleveland Browns was released from a Cleveland hospital following his recovery from a head injury sustained during a Week 17 victory over the New York Jets.

In Thursday’s 37-20 victory in Cleveland, Moore sustained an injury in the second quarter. He stayed away from the game.

“He is back home now,” Stefanski said to the media on Friday. “He is in concussion protocol, so we will just work through that over the next few days with him.”

When Moore was hurt, the Browns started the injury process with the ball at their own 28-yard line. On the second-and-seven play, quarterback Joe Flacco took the snap and connected with Moore close to the 45-yard line with a throw to his left.

After fending off one tackle, the Browns wide out made it to the 50 yard line, where Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley tackled him.

Moore remained on the ground, thrashing his arms and resting on his back. After that, he was assisted off the field and brought to the hospital, where he spent the night.

In the triumph, Moore caught five passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. Through 16 games, the three-year veteran accumulated 640 yards and two touchdowns on 59 catches.

“I don’t have a ton of information other than to say he’s doing better,” Stefanski stated. “He’s at home. He and I have been messaging. We all know them [head injuries] are usually frightening.”

The Browns (11-5) will play the Cincinnati Bengals (8-7) in their regular-season finale on January 7 at Cincinnati. The Browns secured a postseason berth on Thursday.
