News Now: Oklahoma Wide Receiver Veteran to Use Transfer Portal

SAN ANTONIO: The NCAA Transfer Portal is stealing an offensive component from Oklahoma. Compton, California wide receiver LV Bunkley-Shelton is expected to sign with the portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, who shared the information on Twitter on Tuesday.

After spending two seasons in Tempe, Arizona State, the 5-foot-11, 197-pound Bunkley-Shelton transferred to OU. He had just two catches in 2022 and three in 2023 for the Sooners.

Despite appearing in 23 games, Bunkley-Shelton was never fully utilized as a weapon in Jeff Lebby’s attack in Norman. He played in all four games for the Sun Devils in 2020 as a true freshman, hauling in 11 receptions for 100 yards. He participated in 12 games and had two touchdown catches along with 33 receptions for 418 yards, ranking third on the team, in 2021. Bunkley-Shelton is a senior who still has two years to be eligible.
