Sad News: Georgia Bulldogs Star Suffer devastating Injury that May Ruin His Career Following Record Win

RUNNING BACK BRANSON ROBINSON (OUT)

The running back position for the Bulldogs became a problem shortly before the start of the season thanks in part to the loss of Branson Robinson, who ruptured his patella tendon during fall camp and will miss the season as a result.

Georgia running backs coach Dell McGee provided an update on Robinson on Thursday.

“He’s a little overweight right now, but that’s kind of to be anticipated because he can’t run yet. But he is doing everything medically and from a rehab aspect to make himself the greatest version of himself,” McGee said. “He’ll do everything to get back. He may try to accomplish too much because that’s the type of person he is.”

McGee indicated that he does not expect Robinson to be involved in spring football while he continues healing from the injury.

Smart spoke about Robinson immediately after the back suffered the injury during the last week of fall camp.

“Tough, tough break for him,” Smart remarked when Robinson was hurt. “He was coming back from a toe injury on the other leg and actually was not even in a contact drill. He sliced and planted and burst the patella tendon. He’ll make a full recovery but, unfortunately he’ll be gone for the season, which puts us in a terrible situation at back.”

Robinson played in 12 games for Georgia during his true freshman season and ending up being the team’s fourth-leading rusher after taking 68 touches for 330 yards and 3 touchdowns. He completed his freshman season in style by taking 7 touches for 42 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ blowout victory over TCU.

Robinson’s injury left Georgia with four scholarship backs: Kendall Milton, Daijun Edwards, Roderick Robinson, and redshirt freshman Andrew Paul.

WIDE RECEIVER LADD MCCONKEY (IN)

Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey has battled injuries throughout the 2023 season. The good news is the break between games seems to have suited the junior well.

McConkey told reporters that he was ready to go for Saturday’s Orange Bowl and that his plan had been to play as long as he was physically able. McConkey could very be playing in his final game as a Georgia Bulldog, as he faces a NFL draft decision once this season is officially over.

McConkey went through pre-game warm-ups with no noticeable limitations.

McConkey has 26 receptions for 418 yards and 2 touchdowns in seven games this season. He missed the first four games due to a back injury before making his season debut against Auburn then later battled an ankle injury.
