After removing his name from the transfer portal, Julian Humprey has decided to remain with Georgia.
It was reported that Julian Humphrey was re-entering the transfer portal, however he has now decided to remain with the squad.
This week, rumors circulated that one of Georgia’s cornerbacks was considering leaving the team, which kept him in the headlines. Julian Humphrey and Daniel Harris, two cornerbacks, revealed their intention to use the transfer portal before to the Orange Bowl. After the game, they made the decision to remove their names from the site and remain with the squad.
Last night, additional word came that Humphrey will be using his three years of eligibility elsewhere and entering the transfer portal again, after the two statements. Humphrey reaffirmed his intention to remain in Athens with the Bulldogs just twenty-one hours afterwards.
On3 was the first to announce the news and Humphrey’s reasons for wanting to remain with the Bulldogs. An interview with Humphrey is included in the article, providing him with an opportunity to clarify the issue. Based on the interview, the following observations have been made.
“‘I took it into consideration a lot,’ Humphrey told DawgsHQ in an exclusive interview, commenting specifically on UGA’s persistent pursuit. ‘I know with a solid year at Georgia, I can get to the NFL. The more I thought about this, why would I leave Georgia for a handful more bucks? I want to go there, it is Georgia and that is one of the top premier programs in the country.'”

Whether or if Humphrey will be with the team by the end of the transfer portal window will be totally up to him, but it is wonderful news for Kirby Smart and Will Muschamp as they won’t be losing a valued piece to their defensive success from the 2023 season.
