“Mixed feelings”Just In Ohio State Top Super Star Confirmed He Wants To Leave

Ohio State’s Matthew Jones, a senior offensive lineman, has decided not to return for the upcoming season and instead declared his intention to enter the 2024 NFL Draft. In a social media statement, Jones expressed gratitude to his family for their steadfast love and support, acknowledging their sacrifices that paved the way for his journey into the draft.

Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Jones extended his thanks in the message to significant individuals, including a mention of his faith in Jesus Christ. He also credited the Ohio State coaching staff, particularly Coach Ryan Day, Coach Justin Frye, Coach Mike Sollenne, and Coach Mick Marotti, for allowing him to be part of something special. Jones emphasized his appreciation for the holistic learning experience, not just in football skills but also in developing qualities like leadership, accountability, and the ability to inspire others.

While NFLDraftBuzz.com currently projects Jones to conclude as an undrafted free agent, his standout 40-yard dash time of 5.02 seconds places him in the 94th percentile of players at his position in the history of the NFL Draft Combine. As Jones prepares for the 2024 NFL Draft, he will be joining fellow Ohio State teammates Miyan Williams and Mike Hall, Jr. on April 25.

This significant decision marks a pivotal moment in Jones’ athletic career, and his outstanding performance in key areas could influence his draft outcome despite current projections. The draft will undoubtedly be an exciting opportunity for him to showcase his skills and potentially secure a promising future in professional football.
