Georgia Bulldogs CB Julian Humphrey Enters Transfer Portal
Humphrey clashed with Daylen Everette for the CB2 berth and ultimately lost out. This meant that he spent a lot of time on the sidelines. Additionally, a shoulder injury versus Ole Miss led him to miss some time. However, he played substantial snaps for the squad racking up 11 tackles and four pass breakups in 2023. He had this to say in a statement to On3.
“First and foremost I would like to thank the man above for the countless opportunities that have come to me. I have prayed about this, and asked God to guide and led me to the right decision. And after careful analysis, I would be entering the Transfer Portal with 3 years left of eligibility.”
Plenty Of Talent Incoming
The Bulldogs are anticipated to be in the mix for a national championship versus. Having quarterback Carson Beck back will help with continuity on offense. Kirby Smart has proved that he can coach a winning squad. The recruiting class is one of the strongest in the NCAA so while losing players to the portal hurts, there is plenty of talent coming in. It stings to lose athletes but this is the way of collegiate football nowadays.
