Just down the street, the Texas Rangers are receiving some assistance in their efforts to re-sign Jordan Montgomery. Hurtado Barbecue is providing lifetime free barbecue to the free-agent pitcher who was a star during the World Series run.

Brandon Hurtado, a co-owner of the restaurant, personally approached Montgomery on social media.

“We desire your return,” Hurtado uttered. We understand that we are merely a barbecue restaurant, but we are the official barbecue restaurant of the Texas Rangers. I know there is a chance for you to return and pitch for the Rangers this season. We desire your return. In addition, I’ll sweeten the deal by offering you free barbecue for the rest of your life if you decide to sign with the Rangers once more this season. It’s not a jest. I mean it. Jordan, you’ll never have to pay for Hurtado Barbecue again if you return and pitch for the Rangers this season.

The first of their two facilities is located less than two miles from Globe Life Field in downtown Arlington. Fort Worth is home to the other one.

Montgomery ‘Prefers’ to Sign With Rangers in Free Agency

Although the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers seem to be Jordan Montgomery’s top two suitors, the free-agent starting pitcher may be leaning in one way.

And the World Series champs would be quite pleased with that.

Randy Miller of NJ.com claims that Montgomery is eager to rejoin the Rangers. Montgomery’s former team, the Yankees, have expressed interest in the left-hander.

The Yankees’ top choice to improve the rotation, according to the person with knowledge of their thoughts, is Montgomery. However, there is little chance of a reunion because Montgomery wants to join the Rangers after they win their first world championship in 2023. Montgomery grew close to his teammates in the postseason and played a significant role in Texas’ success.

The source stated, “I’m told Montgomery’s first choice is the Rangers.” “He adores Texas.” In reality, he wants to go there.
