The most recent rumors and information about transfers involving Brighton & Hove Albion and other Premier League teams
James Beadle, the goalkeeper for Brighton & Hove Albion, appears to be joining Sheffield Wednesday, citing our sister publication, www.yorkshirepost.co.uk.
The 19-year-old Beadle was loaned to Oxford United, a League One play-off contender, for the majority of the season. The highly regarded England youth international, though, appears destined to forgo a play-off chase in favor of a relegation struggle with Sheffield Wednesday of the Championship.
Beadle is playing at a higher level of football, and since Wednesday has struggled defensively this season and is only four points above Rotherham in the basement, he would probably see more time.
Des Buckingham, the manager of Oxford, stated to the Oxford Mail yesterday, “We’ve got things under control with James.” Nothing has been done with him in that area as of yet, but I am unable to elaborate further at this time.Should anything move in that area, we’re covered.
Beadle and the Seagulls inked a new deal last week that runs until June 2028. “James is having an excellent season and this new contract is a reward for his progress and hard work,” said David Weir, technical director of Albion.
“He has demonstrated that he has a bright future ahead of him with his performances with England and Oxford this season. He has played for England up to the under-20 level.”
