After Michail Antonio suffered yet another setback to his injuries, West Ham is unlikely to let Danny Ings leave the team this month, as reported by talkSPORT.

The news agency reports that the Jamaican international has encountered a setback in his recuperation from a knee injury in a post on their transfer live blog dated January 9, 8:26 am.

This indicates that Ings is likely to remain at the London Stadium, which is “bad news” for Wolves since they had hoped to sign the former England striker on a loan.

Following Michail Antonio’s delay in his recuperation from a knee injury, it appears that he may be sticking at West Ham, they said.

Michail Antonio called up by Jamaica | West Ham United F.C.

“That’s unfortunate for Wolves, as they intend to sign Ings on a loan.”

West Ham were clearly very open to doing a deal for Ings this month because he is way down the pecking order under David Moyes.

Jarrod Bowen seems to be the first-choice striker these days despite naturally being a right-winger, while Antonio and Divin Mubama are all ahead of Ings in the ranking also.

Given that it would retain Ings in the Premier League and remove his salary from the books for the Hammers, Wolves’ interest in him would have been a wise move.

Any possible transaction will have to wait until the conclusion of the window if there is going to be any movement, as the club understandably wants to prioritize their own interests this month and make sure they’re not short for the second half of the season. Unfortunately for Wolves, West Ham, and Ings for the time being, a transfer appears unlikely. In other West Ham news, the team plans to sign an international forward to a permanent contract this month.
