Good News: Yankees Now In Talks to land this superstar pitcher ‘Soon’ to bolster rotation

There’s still time for the New York Yankees to make another huge move. New York has been one of the most active clubs in baseball. The Yankees consistently crop up in a new rumor each week and it sounds like they are doing everything they can do to strengthen the club. The Yankees have money to spend and have been tied to every big-name free-agent starting pitcher and every pitcher who has a probability of being moved.

From Jordan Montgomery to Dylan Cease, New York has been suggested as a fit for every available pitcher. At this moment, Cease is looking like one of New York’s primary targets. It’s uncertain if the Yankees could get a deal done with the Chicago White Sox, but it sounds like they want to get one done “soon,” according to NJ.com’s Randy Miller.

If they don't pick up their team option. Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson can enter free agency after this season. The White Sox should have suitors lining up to trade for

“Will (Brian Cashman) make (Spencer Jones) and No. 1 pitching prospect Chase Hampton the focus of a deal for Cease that would keep him from the Orioles, who then would be everyone’s favorites to win a second AL East title in a row? Look for the Yankees to strike shortly,” Miller said.

“They want Cease, and they’d happily settle for (Blake Snell). The price is the holdup. Will Cashman pay what it takes in money or potential to obtain one of them before both end up elsewhere?” Cease has been in trade rumors all winter and it looks like the White Sox are contemplating a thorough rebuild. The 28-year-old has significant trade value and the White Sox will command a hefty price.

He’s worth it and New York should pay whatever it costs to land the star. New York needs one more hurler to genuinely be World Series contenders and Cease could be that guy.
