Throughout the season, linebacker Tyrel Dodson and safety Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills were recognized as NFLPA Community MVPs for their exceptional contributions to the communities of Pittsburgh and Buffalo.
The highest award the NFLPA can give a player is the Alan Page Community Award, which either of them might get. Five players will be chosen as finalists for the honor, which will be given out during Super Bowl week, and voting is currently open. The NFLPA will provide $10,000 to the charity of their choice for each finalist.
Earlier in the season, Hamlin held his fourth annual holiday toy drive in Pittsburgh, where he gave away 2,000 toys, 50 bikes, and hundreds of books.
Dodson treated four Buffalo-area single mothers on a holiday shopping trip, giving them ornaments, gingerbread homes, and Christmas trees.
During the occasion, Dodson remarked, “This is something big I’ve always wanted to do.” “I get emotional even thinking about it.”
