This winter, Jose Trevino will not be donning his pinstripes. He and the New York Yankees have agreed to a one-year contract of $2.7 million, the general public was informed by Ari Koslow of Fantasypros.Trevino, 31, signed his first seven-figure contract after making his major league debut in 2018. The Yankees were careful to hold onto their dependable catcher through the end of 2024 during his first year of arbitration.
With Trevino’s signing, Yankees management has completed a number of deals in preparation for their anticipated World Series push in 2019.Trevino batted.210 in 157 plate appearances, blasted four home runs, and totaled 15 runs and RBIs per game. Behind the plate, Trevino recorded 411 putouts which boosted his .993 fielding percentage.
Aaron Boone, the head coach of the Yankees, will value Trevino even more now that Isaiah Kiner-Falefa is off the roster.
