Georgia football is once more affected by the brand-new, daring college football landscape. Jayden Maiava has made the decision not to travel to Athens after leaving. Rather, Maiava is traveling to Los Angeles from Las Vegas to perform at USC.
This is a facet of the contemporary college football landscape. Portal flips are available now. I remarked that my narrative about Maiava coming the other day didn’t make much sense if you read it. Maiava reached a similar conclusion.
I won’t criticize a 19-year-old child for the choices he makes or doesn’t make. Not that I want to be the old guy screaming at the clouds, but this has got to stop or college football’s most devoted supporters will lose interest in the sport.
That this has occurred twice in a single offseason for the Dawgs is absurd! Julian Humphery was the first to depart or stay with Georgia, saying “snip-snap, snip-snap,” and now Maiava. I find it absurd that this is the milieu in which coaches operate. Trying to keep up with all of this would cause a stroke if I were Kirby Smart.
What does this signify, then, for the Dawgs? Kirby Smart mentioned that they would prefer to have four quarterbacks on the team. With Maiava, they had four, but they are back to three presently. My prediction is that either Georgia finds a guy through the portal, or they wait until the end of the following season to start looking.
Who knows what QB will be seeking for a new place to call home with N.I.L. and the portal? This following season, Carson Beck is expected to depart for the NFL, therefore Athens might be that location. It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if a Heisman Trophy winner passed through the portal eventually. But for the time being, Kirby Smart and the Dawgs will look for that fourth quarterback. If they ever receive it, who knows?
