Josh Allen makes bold Kansas City Chiefs playoffs prediction to Tua Tagovailoa

Josh Allen makes big Kansas City Chiefs playoffs prediction to Tua Tagovailoa
The Buffalo Bills welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday evening, hours after the Miami Dolphins visit the Kansas City Chiefs as the NFL playoffs begin this weekend.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has intimated that he feels the Miami Dolphins will upset the Kansas City Chiefs in the wild-card round this weekend.

Allen, 27, expressed this notion with Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after leading the Bills to a 21-14 victory against their AFC East opponents in their regular season finale. That win won Buffalo their fourth consecutive division title.

It also meant they are the second-seed in the AFC and would meet the seventh-seeded Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon rather than the Chiefs. But despite Kansas City being the defending champs and the third seed behind the Bills, Allen is not expecting to meet them in the playoffs.

After the game, while still on the Hard Rock Stadium pitch after their 21-14 comeback win on the road in Miami, the quarterback appeared bullish about both teams’ chances in the postseason.

In a postgame embrace with Tagovailoa, he said: “We’ll see you guys again, huh?” The Dolphins quarterback met that with: “Always fun competing against you, brother,” before Allen reiterated: “I’ll see you in a couple of weeks, yeah?”

Tagovailoa did not reply to the statements despite the desire of his opponent. Allen made it plain he is expecting Miami to win over the Chiefs on Saturday night because if both the Bills and Dolphins victory in the wild-card weekend, they will face each other again a fortnight after last week’s encounter in the divisional round.

In-form Buffalo are huge favourites to upset the Steelers, especially with the absence of Pittsburgh’s injured standout pass rusher T.J. Watt. But supporting Miami is a bold call considering their injury issues.

Running back Raheem Mostert and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle are uncertain to play because of injury. Without such offensive weapons during the last two games, the Dolphins have lost back-to-back games, with the other a 56-19 thumping by the Baltimore Ravens.

Meanwhile, starting cornerback Xavien Howard is ruled out with a foot ailment. Acknowledging their sudden downturn in performance, Tagovailoa told reporters this week: “I think a lot of the guys, we all want to do things correctly. It just sucks when we’re not able to with the work that we put in.

“But it’s a new season, and that’s how we look at it. fresh season, fresh opportunity, and we can still get to where we want to reach after this week.”

Contrastingly to his on-field remarks, Allen is far more subtle while chatting with media. “At the end of the day, this is fun, this is cool, and never say no to winning a division, but the only thing that it solidifies is a home game and one more game,” he said.

“So it doesn’t mean anything if we go out there next week and don’t do our job, so we got to find a way to put our best foot forward and go find a victory next week.”
