Breaking News: Philadelphia 76ers Linked With Another Top Super Star

Breaking News: 76ers Pursue LaVine, Siakam, and Murray in Trade Speculation
There are a lot of speculations circulating around the Philadelphia 76ers with less than a month until the trade deadline. Someone with knowledge of their dealings with industry heavyweights recently spilled the beans. Several players have been linked to the Sixers in recent times. Among them, guard Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks, Zach LaVine of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Pascal Siakam stand out. It would indicate that the front office is not actively exploring any of these alternatives, even though Morey seems to be doing his homework.

A trio of All-Stars were mentioned by Jake Fischer, who recently compiled trade rumors, as being of interest to the Sixers. The team is being patient in order to keep their options open going forward, which is the same pattern as most speculations.

“Philadelphia is not in any rush to add a piece or burn any of the Sixers’ newfound draft capital by way of the Harden trade, sources said,” wrote Fischer. “If the Hawks don’t operate with haste to locate a deal, perhaps a trade might come to fruition for Murray closer to the deadline. However, league insiders do not anticipate the Sixers pursuing Siakam or LaVine in this trade window. Following the James Harden trade, the Sixers are in a position to be a key player in free agency this upcoming offseason. Knowing this, Morey and the front office don’t appear on doing anything that could damage their long-term financial freedom.

While Siakam will be a free agency at the end of the season, Murray and LaVine still have many years left on their contracts. The success of the team has made things a little simpler for Morey about transactions. Between the rise of Tyrese Maxey and other standouts in the supporting cast, the Sixers have excelled expectations. Even with their recent losing run, they remain a top-three seed in the Eastern Conference. Based on how most Sixers’ rumors have been worded, it doesn’t appear like the big trade will occur at the deadline. Unless anything changes, lesser upgrades could be made in the short term as they wait until the summer to make a significant splash.
