The former five-star recruit, recognized for his outstanding performance as SEC newcomer and freshman of the year, has become a sought-after prospect since entering the portal after the retirement of Alabama’s head coach, Nick Saban. Despite strong competition from the Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State is making a significant effort to secure Downs, who showcased his prowess with 107 tackles, two interceptions, and other notable achievements during his freshman year with the Tide.
