Breaking News: Bill Belichick Jilted Cowboys for “Media” Reasons: Report

This week, the Dallas Cowboys and club owner Jerry Jones made the decision to dash the aspirations of the team’s supporters worldwide by hiring coach Mike Florioback, in spite of the coach’s dismal 1-3 playoff record in Dallas and the team’s devastating loss to the Packers in the postseason opener. However, Jones may not have made the final decision. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the Cowboys attempted to inquire about famous coach Bill Belichick’s interest in taking over in Dallas, but were turned down.

It appears that Belichick is coming closer to making his way to Atlanta. It was reported that the Eagles and Cowboys were thwarted in their attempts to sign Belichick, causing the Eagles to retain Nick Sirianni and the Cowboys to remain with McCarthy. Oddly enough, Florio mentions Belichick’s desire to leave big media markets as one of the reasons.

Florio stated this week, “According to a league source, Belichick is thought to be done with ‘big-market media,’ making him more inclined to go to a place like Atlanta than Dallas or Philadelphia.”

Regarding the Cowboys and Eagles, there is a notion in certain league circles that after both teams showed interest in Belichick, the franchises chose to remain with their present head coaches after Belichick declined their advances.

Bill Belichick tells Falcons: We’re Coming Together
Numerous sources indicate that the Falcons are getting close to selecting Belichick to be their new head coach. A coach with five Super Bowl triumphs and just 26 wins shy of the all-time NFL coaches record (328 held by Don Shula) up against a franchise that has never won a Super Bowl and hasn’t finished above.500 since 2017 would make for an intriguing matchup.

Arthur Blank, the owner of the Falcons, has conducted two interviews with Belichick, who has also lately inquired about the team’s roster.

Following the Cowboys’ defeat to the Packers, there was a lot of conjecture about their potential involvement in a Belichick trade. “Bill Belichick has, quietly in recent years, through doing football business and attending owners meetings, built a very solid relationship with both Jerry and Stephen Jones,” SI.com insider Albert Breer tweeted amid the crushing defeat. This could be starting to get really interesting.

Cowboys Cannot Get Rid of Mike McCarthy
Naturally, things never really got exciting in regards to Belichick and the Cowboys, or any other possible head coach for that matter. Following two days of contemplation, McCarthy was reinstated by the Cowboys and reintroduced at a news conference on Wednesday.

Naturally, things never really got exciting in regards to Belichick and the Cowboys, or any other possible head coach for that matter. Following two days of contemplation, McCarthy was reinstated by the Cowboys and reintroduced at a news conference on Wednesday.

When McCarthy said the Cowboys actually have a championship program in place, they simply haven’t gotten around to winning postseason games yet, he garnered ridicule from across the league.

“This is what I would like to convey: A championship program has been built. McCarthy remarked, “It’s just not the world championship yet.” “We are skilled at winning and trained to win. The proper folks are here. However, we haven’t yet reached the point of winning postseason games. And to be sitting here talking about it is just depressing. I know how to win, though. We’ll cross the threshold. I stand here today because I am completely confident in it.

Maybe that’s why he was standing there on that particular day. But it’s more likely that he was standing there because Bill Belichick was refusing to take the position.
