DONE DEAL: Just In Cleveland Browns Schedule Former QB Interview for Opening Day

The search is underway for a new offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns.

One of the prospects the Browns recently interviewed might be recognizable to Browns supporters.

For the job, Cleveland met with one of their former quarterbacks, Ken Dorsey, according to CBS NFL Insider Jonathan Jones on Twitter.

Earlier in the season, Dorsey was let go by the Buffalo Bills, where he was the offensive coordinator.

In terms of total yards and points scored, Dorsey’s attack placed second the year before.

But the Bills let Dorsey go following this past season’s 5-5 start.

Buffalo was still in the top 10 in terms of yards and points at the time.

Sean McDermott, the head coach of the Bills, stated to reporters upon his dismissal that he “just felt like it was time for a change.”

Fans of the Browns recall Dorsey from his six-year stint in Cleveland from 2006 to 2009.

For players like Brady Quinn, Derek Anderson, and Charlie Frye, Dorsey was essentially their backup.

Before his release and 2009 NFL exit, he did have a few spot starts.

It is true that Dorsey played one season in the Canadian Football League before starting his coaching career.

Some fans dislike the thought of any team signing Dorsey, even if they may be slightly biased toward the Bills.

Some are more in favor of Dorsey taking a chance with a player like Deshaun Watson because they admire what he did with Josh Allen.

The offensive coordinator position in Cleveland is a little different in that they will not be making play calls.

It is still Kevin Stefanski’s role.

After his tenure in Buffalo, Dorsey—who was formerly the passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach—may be open to taking on a little smaller role.

The Browns may want to keep an eye on Dorsey as they continue their hunt for a new offensive coordinator.
