Former Houston Texans coach Bill O’Brien is returning to college football as the Ohio State Buckeyes’ new offensive coordinator, following a disappointing return to the New England Patriots. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, O’Brien’s arrival would relieve fifth-year coach Ryan Day of play-calling duties as he changes up his coaching staff in an effort to
return the Buckeyes to national title contention. “The move comes with a potential shift within the OSU program, as coach Ryan Day has spent part of this off-season exploring bringing in an experienced coordinator that would allow him to give up play-calling duties,” Thamel said.
After two seasons as offensive coordinator under famous coach Nick Saban at Alabama, O’Brien returned.
