NEW YORK— , a right-hander, and the New York Yankees agreed to a $37 million two-year contract on Wednesday.
The agreement has a conditional player option for 2026.
The 32-year-old grew up on Long Island, around 55 miles (88 kilometers) from Yankee Stadium, and played for the New York Mets in 2019 and 2021 before opting out of the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.
Stroman joins a Yankees rotation led by AL Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole, which will most likely feature Clarke Schmidt.
