Antonio Pierce & Jack Jones confirm the QB Raiders we sign in 2024

The Las Vegas Raiders are set to be on the quarterback market in 2024, and they may prefer a younger option after choosing the experienced way with Jimmy Garoppolo last summer. The 2024 NFL Draft class is stacked with talented quarterbacks, but one stands out as the most likely choice.

Jayden Daniels, LSU’s quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner, began his collegiate career at Arizona State, where head coach Antonio Pierce was the recruiting coordinator and corner back Jack Jones was on the roster.

Jones wrote, “J5 to da NATION,” in a January 21 X post.

Daniels wears No. 5, therefore “J5” almost probably refers to him. According to this X post, Jones looks to be targeting Daniels for the Raiders. That is a notion Pierce can support. He liked an X post about Daniels maybe joining the Raiders.

Pierce no longer likes the post, although Heavy Sports confirmed that he had previously liked it. Given that Daniels attended the Raiders’ Week 18 game against the Denver Broncos and screamed out Pierce during his Heisman Trophy acceptance speech, there is definitely some mutual interest between the two sides.

Jayden Daniels Projected to Go Washington Commanders.
The Raiders and Jayden Daniels face a dilemma if they want to partner up: the quarterback is simply too excellent to be available at No. 13 in the first round. According to Mel Kiper’s newest ESPN mock draft, Daniels will go second to the Washington Commanders.

“The bottom line is it’s tight between Daniels and Maye on my board, but Daniels would be a tremendous fit for a Washington roster that has some young playmakers on offense,” Kiper said in his mock draft on January 23. “Maye’s inconsistency at the end of the season is enough for me to rank Daniels second.” The fact, however, is that the Commanders have just acquired a new general manager and still do not have a coach, so there is a lot to find out about which path they will go.”

If the organization wants Jayden Daniels or another quality QB prospect, they must be prepared to give up future selections. If not, they may remain at No. 13 and target Washington’s Michael Penix or Oregon’s Bo Nix. Those quarterbacks do not have the same upside as Daniels, but they are likely to be an upgrade over Aidan O’Connell.
