Brea news and update Bill Belichick reportedly turned both the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles before deciding to retain their current head coaches.

According to a recent story, famed head coach Bill Belichick was reportedly approached by the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles regarding their interest in having him coach their teams. However, it appears that the six-time Super Bowl winner turned down their approaches.

A memorable 24-year partnership between the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick came to an end last month, marking a moment in NFL history off the field. Soon after the coach and team split up, rumors started to circulate about the 71-year-old’s potential next move as he attempts to break the NFL record for the most victories by a head coach.

The Atlanta Falcons appeared to be the front-runner to sign him from the beginning. And even though he has the best football coaching resume in history and quite a few good jobs available, he has only spoken with them since hitting the free market.

Bill Belichick was purportedly approached by the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles to be their head coach?

According to Pro Football Talk reporter Mike Florio, “As to the Cowboys and the Eagles, there’s a belief in some league circles that both teams expressed interest in Belichick, that Belichick didn’t reciprocate, and that those teams then decided to stick with their current coaches.” The report discussed the possibility of Belichick taking over as the Falcons’ next head coach.

It is partially believed that Bill Belichick is “done with ‘big-market media'” organizations at this point in his career, which is why Florio said the legendary coach declined the chance to take over jobs in two of the biggest markets in the sport and instead chooses Atlanta.

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said shortly after the Dallas Cowboys’ playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round that Mike McCarthy would take the helm again in 2024. Though they haven’t said anything about Nick Sirianni, the Philadelphia Eagles seem to be planning to keep him as head coach as well. They will be looking for new offensive and defensive coordinators in the coming days.
