In anticipation of the AFC Championship Game against the Ravens, the Chiefs are getting ready.

Linebacker Willie Gay of the Kansas City Chiefs, who was forced to leave his team’s game against the Buffalo Bills due to a neck injury, received good news on Wednesday.

Gay was not on the list of players being held out when the Chiefs practiced on Wednesday in order to get ready to play the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN:

“Without Trey Smith, Mike Edwards, Isiah Pacheco, and Joe Thuney, the Chiefs will practice today.”

On the basis of that update, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler established the obvious connection:

“LB Willie Gay’s (neck) trend appears to be rising. Per the source, X-rays showed no significant damage.

Before Josh Allen of the Bills was forced to leave the game, Gay served as the Chiefs’ quarterback spy, helping to prevent Allen from running the ball.

Throughout his four-year career, Willie Gay has been a dependable linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs. 58 total tackles, one sack, three fumble recoveries, and an interception were his final totals during the regular season. Gay is a well-rounded linebacker with the ability to drop back to stop passes and stuff runs.

Without him, Kansas City’s defense would suffer a great deal against the Ravens and their erratic quarterback, Lamar Jackson.

After defeating the Eagles in the previous season, the Chiefs aim to return to the Super Bowl for the second time in a row. Now that Patrick Mahomes has started as the starting quarterback for six seasons, they have advanced to the AFC Championship Game. With two Super Bowl victories, the Chiefs’ record in those games to date is 3-2.
