The Detroit Lions beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday and will face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night.
One of their top offensive lineman was injured against Tampa Bay but will most likely return this week.
The Detroit Lions center is anticipated to participate in the NFC Championship Game.
Bowl center Frank Ragnow had a sprained knee and ankle against Tampa Bay but still played the entire game.
Head coach Dan Campbell praised his toughness:
“Frank’s a stud,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell told reporters after Sunday’s game. “You know what he does. He’s willing to put it all on the line, and he’s not going to miss it. Frank believes that even if you aren’t at your best, you can still create and win with 80 percent effort. He thinks he can, and he trusts himself and the people around him.
“There’s nothing easy about it. Not everyone can accomplish it… But he can. And he helped us win today.”
Ragnow was also praised by their left tackle, Taylor Decker:
“Frank’s a stud,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell told reporters following Sunday’s game. “You understand what he does. He’s prepared to risk everything, and he won’t let it pass him by. Frank thinks that even if you’re not at your peak, you can produce and win with 80 percent effort. He believes he can, and he trusts himself and others around him.
“There is nothing easy about it. Not everyone can do it… But he can. And he helped us win today.”
Taylor Decker, the left tackle, also commended Ragnow:
Despite many injuries this season, Ragnow managed to participate in 15 regular-season games and two postseason games, demonstrating his tenacity.
He had a back, calf, and toe ailment and missed Week 8.
In Week 13, he injured his meniscus. He had surgery on his meniscus and missed Week 14.
Ragnow has participated in 989 offensive snaps, committed three penalties, allowed one sack, and earned an 88.1 PFF grade.
Will his ailments hold him back against San Francisco’s top defensive line?
Will an injured Frank Ragnow and the Detroit Lions offensive line be able to stop San Francisco’s outstanding defensive line, which allows the third fewest running yards and the third most sacks in the league?
