Lance Heard, an offensive lineman for LSU who is a true freshman, declared his transfer to Tennessee.
Heard was ranked as the third offensive tackle and the 51st overall talent in the 2023 class. He is a 340-pound, 6-foot-6 lineman from Monroe, Louisiana.
Prior to joining the Volunteers, he visited Tennessee and Oklahoma after logging onto the transfer portal on January 2. Heard played in 12 games at tackle for the Tigers last season despite being a true freshman.
Following the transfer of right tackle Gerald Mincey to Kentucky, Tennessee needed reinforcements up front. Heard can play as soon as he gets to Tennessee and will have three years left of eligibility.
Heard, Notre Dame tight end Holden Staes, Tulane wide receiver Chris Brazzell II, Alabama tight end Miles Kitselman, Temple cornerback Jalen McMurray, Oregon State cornerback Jermod McCoy, and Middle Tennessee State safety Jakobe Thomas are among the players the Volunteers have added through the transfer portal.
