Breaking News: Duke Blue Devils In Talks To Sign Top Talented Star

Lists Duke Basketball as One of the Most Intense Prospects on Polished Recruit
Duke basketball is still searching for a different streaking California guard.
Since his unofficial visit to Durham in September, there hasn’t been much news regarding the Duke basketball team’s pursuit of junior guard Brayden Burries of Eleanor Roosevelt High School (Calif.). However, he said to Joe Tipton of On3 this week that the Blue Devils are among the people he hears from the most.

Alabama, Arizona, Kansas, LSU, Houston, San Diego State, Southern Cal, Texas, and UCLA are the other nine Burries mentioned.

The only other programs that have welcomed him on an unofficial visit are Southern California, Houston, and Arizona.

Burries is ranked No. 15 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite. His sure-footed drives and sharp shooting technique remind me of a current freshman guard for Duke basketball and former five-star California prep Jared McCain. That’s 20 spots more than the four-star composite back then received when the Blue Devils made an offer in June.

Following his observations of the 6-foot-5, 200-pound Burries’s polished technique during the USA Basketball Junior National Team minicamp in October, Jamie Shaw of On3 provided the following breakdown of the now five-star prospect’s repertoire:
Once more, Jared McCain may equally well suit that assessment.

Brayden Burries, who was previously considered for a 2024 reclassification, stated a few months ago that he intends to stay in the 2025 class. The 17-year-old has indicated that his decision might be made as soon as May, but he hasn’t given it a deadline. Having said that, it appears he is not in a rush because he has not yet announced any official visits.

He is among the eight 2025 recruits who are still indecisive that have received an offer from Jon Scheyer, the head coach of Duke.
