Raheem Morris was bound to get an offer to become head coach given how well he performed for the Los Angeles Rams. After three years with the organization, Morris had some parting remarks for his now-former teammates as he was departing to take a head coaching position with the Atlanta Falcons.
“I am overjoyed for the opportunity for my family and I to return to Atlanta as the Falcons head coach,” Morris stated. “I am incredibly grateful to the Rams organization for the chance and experience I had with the team. The Rams are an elite team in every way, from Sean McVay to Kevin Demoff, Les Snead, and the Kroenke family. We cherished our time in Los Angeles, the fans, and we are confident in the Rams’ bright future.”
This season, the Rams saw a number of young players stand up for the team, and they may serve as the foundation for years to come. Now, a new defensive coordinator will be in charge of that future, and names like former Chargers head coach Brandon Staley are starting to surface as possible contenders. However, Morris will always be credited by the Rams for creating the defensive foundation that will be strengthened for years to come, regardless of the player they choose to sign.
