Good News: Winnipeg Blue Bombers confirm The Addition Another Experienced Top Star

Resigning as running back Johnny Augustine, the Blue Bombers
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have announced that they and Canadian running back Johnny Augustine have reached an agreement on a one-year contract. Next month, he was supposed to become a free agent.

Augustine (5-9; 200; Guelph; born: July 7, 1993, in Welland, Ont.) re-signs with the Blue Bombers in May 2018 and will play for the team again in 2024 for his sixth season.

Over the last three years, he has participated in every game—all 18 of them last season, as well as the Grey Cup and Western Final—and has averaged 5.9 yards per run while finishing second on the team in rushing (267 yards on 45 carries). He was a key member of the special teams unit and finished sixth on the team with eight tackles on the kick cover units.

In his CFL career, Augustine has suit up for 75 games during the regular season, all with the Blue Bombers. Before moving to Winnipeg, he received looks from Edmonton and Saskatchewan in the 2017 CFL Draft despite not being selected.

He spent five seasons as a student at the University of Guelph, where in his senior year, he ran for the Gryphons for 690 yards and nine touchdowns on 122 carries.
