“I will Leave for him to stay” Los Angeles Rams Man confirm he wants to leave

What Does Jimmy Lake’s Switch from the Rams to the Falcons Mean for LA?
This offseason, the Los Angeles Rams’ coaching staff has suffered a great deal, as three of head coach Sean McVay’s assistants were acquired by the Atlanta Falcons alone. On January 25, Atlanta announced the hiring of Raheem Morris as its next head coach. Morris most recently served as the defensive coordinator for the Rams. In the days that followed, Morris hired assistant head coach Jimmy Lake and quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator Zac Robinson, both from the Rams, to serve as his offensive and defensive coordinators. In Los Angeles, Morris and Robinson had clear roles. How will Lake’s departure impact the Rams, though?

Last spring, McVay gave a lengthy speech regarding Lake’s role, pointing out that although he wasn’t the official righthand man, his leadership and expertise made him a valuable member of the Rams coaching staff. “Great overall perspective, obviously as a head coach, areas on the defensive side of the ball,” McVay said on March 10. “But some of the different things he’ll be able to provide from a leadership perspective, from an offense to defense, defense to offense will be incredibly valuable.”Jimmy’s presence in the building has been fantastic.” Throughout the season, Lake was given the chance to address the squad and deliver speeches, which served as more evidence of his leadership ability in Los Angeles. The 47-year-old Lake helped turn late acquisition Ahkello Witherspoon into a star player and contributed to the development of second-year cornerbacks Cobie Durant and Derion Kendrick. Though not immediately apparent to the public, Lake’s influence could be felt both on and off the field inside the Rams’ facilities. “I think some of the leadership experiences that he’s had will serve well,” McVay stated. “There’s a bunch of different roles, but the assistant head coach is a reflection of the respect I have for Jimmy, but then also his involvement on both sides of the football.” Although McVay and staff have begun interviewing candidates, Los Angeles still hasn’t filled any of its coaching positions.

However, the person the Rams choose to fill each of their open positions will have a lot of responsibility, both in terms of their coaching and off-field presence.
