Along with the Saints, Getsy has also been connected to open offensive coordinator roles with the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders.
Earlier this month, the Bears fired Getsy along with assistant tight ends coach Tim Zetts, running backs coach Omar Young, receivers coach Tyke Tolbert, and quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko. With Getsy in charge of the offense, Chicago finished the two seasons ranked 23rd and 18th in terms of points scored and 28th and 20th in terms of yards per game.
After graduating from Steel Valley High School in Munhall, Pennsylvania, in 2003, Getsy started his collegiate career at Pitt on a scholarship to play quarterback. Getsy began his college coaching career at Mississippi State and went on to coach at Akron, West Virginia Wesleyan, IUPUI, Western Michigan, and the Panthers as a graduate assistant in 2010. He has coached for both the Bears and the Green Bay Packers in the NFL.
