On Friday, the seasoned Canadian defensive lineman and Winnipeg reached an agreement for a one-year contract extension. On February 13, Thomas was supposed to become a free agent.
The 6′ 2″, 274-pound product of Douglas, New Brunswick, is back for his 12th season in the CFL, this time with Winnipeg. Thomas, who has played in 186 regular-season games and recorded 123 tackles and 25 sacks, is the team’s longest-serving player.
For the sixth consecutive year, two-time Grey Cup champion Thomas dressed for all one of the team’s eighteen regular-season games in 2023. Thomas had 17 tackles and five sacks, which was a career high.
