Owing to a sickness, Tyrese Maxey was added to the injury list prior to the 76ers’ game against the Warriors.
As the 2023–24 season draws to a close and the All-Star break approaches, the Philadelphia 76ers are dealing with a number of ailments. The Sixers’ most serious ailment is Joel Embiid’s meniscus tear, but many other starters have also missed a significant number of games. Tyrese Maxey could now miss Philly’s next home game against the Golden State Warriors due to injury.
Maxey’s status has been updated to “questionable” owing to illness and was posted to the injury report. He didn’t show up for the 76ers’ morning shootaround. After overcoming a recent sickness, Tobias Harris has returned and is not on the injury report. If Maxey is ruled out, he would be the only starting for the squad when they play the Warriors.
Tyrese Maxey, who was forced to play because of the numerous ailments that the 76ers were facing, scored a career-high 51 points in his comeback after missing three games due to an ankle injury. Due to injuries to Embiid and other players, Philadelphia has fallen to fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
The 76ers will be without Embiid, Robert Covington (left knee bone bruise), De’Anthony Melton (back; lumbar spine stress response), and Nico Batum (left hamstring strain) against the Warriors. Paul Reed, who has started in Embiid’s place and played despite illness, is feeling much better, which is good news for Philly.
Chris Paul and Gary Payton II of Golden State are still out with left hand fractures and left hamstring strains, respectively. Draymond Green’s right knee contusion is classified as questionable, while Andrew Wiggins’ left ankle contusion is categorized as likely.
