Two Yankees Named MVP Favorites

With great expectations, the New York Yankees head into Spring Training. They are expected to be the Yankees of the past and contend for a World Series after a dismal season in 2023.

How are they going to finish the task? by maintaining their health and getting their best players to play to their full potential. This season, New York should be more offensively proficient with the addition of Juan Soto to a lineup that already included one of the finest players in baseball, Aaron Judge. These sluggers are among the favorites for MVP in 2024, according to MLB.com, which ranks Judge No. 4 and Soto No. 2.

That’s hardly shocking, given Judge has already won one MVP and there’s a strong case to be made for him to have won two. While Soto hasn’t yet received an MVP, it’s the final significant honor he may receive. In his six-year career, he has two top-five and one top-six finishes. The door is open for someone to win MVP now that Shohei Ohtani is out of the American League.

According to MLB.com, Soto is in his contract year and has demonstrated his ability to rise to the occasion in the past. That shouldn’t change because Yankee Stadium is the pinnacle of his professional pressure. Unless Judge has another injury, he is almost a lock to be among the top five. Due to a toe injury, he was limited to just 106 games last season, but he still managed to slash.267/.406/.613, which included 37 home runs. This season, New York has no justifications. Now that they have the stars to win a World Series, it is all up to them to complete the task.
