Los Angeles Rams name as perfect landing spot for experienced Buffalo Bills Star

Top Fits For LB Free Agent: Rams Josh Allen
Could Josh Allen, a highly sought-after free agent, and the Los Angeles Rams be joining forces soon?

For the previous couple of years, the Los Angeles Rams haven’t been major players in free agency because of cap restrictions, but this offseason, that might very well change.

The Rams’ available cap space is currently slightly over $35 million. While not the highest in the league, it is still more than plenty to strengthen their team. The Rams are in a good position to advance in 2024 following an unexpected 10-win season, whether that is accomplished through a one large signing or several lesser ones.
Josh Allen, a pass-rusher with the Jacksonville Jaguars, may be the ideal target if they choose to go big-game hunting. The Rams were actually listed by The 33rd Team as one of the top destinations for the former seventh overall choice.

“After the Rams exceeded expectations in 2023, they could be looking to build and get the most out of an aging offense by building up a young defense,” The 33rd Team states. According to snap-weighted age, Los Angeles’ offensive was the sixth oldest this season, while its defense was the seventh youngest. With so many rookie contracts, the team also spent the least on defense in the league.

With their 13th-best effective cap space of $27 million, the Rams may be able to pursue a more aggressive free agency strategy than in the past. Los Angeles’ defense could compete with the top offenses in the league if it had a defensive line that included Allen, Kobie Turner, Aaron Donald, and [Byron] Young.”

With a career-high 17.5 sacks this year—tied for the second-highest in the league—Allen is expected to be among the most sought-after free agents available in the offseason. Any team interested would have to pay up, since Spotrac estimates his market value at $23.9 million annually.

Despite Young’s excellent rookie year, the Rams lack depth at the position overall, so one of their top needs this offseason is an edge rusher. Allen would give L.A. a true star on the edge in addition to solving that issue.
