Jerry Mack Is a Prospect for the NFL Assistant Position
Jerry Mack, the coach of Tennessee’s running backs, is a target for the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Matt Zenitz, a national college football reporter for 247Sports, who made the discovery on Friday. With quarterback Trevor Lawerence still bound by his rookie contract, Jacksonville is looking to make changes to their offensive staff after finishing 9–8 last season. John Brice of Football Scoop provided an update that made things clearer.
According to Brice, things are moving “positively” between Mack and the Jaguars, and a deal might be completed today. One of the best running backs in his class, Peyton Lewis from Salem High School, was signed by Mack, who was a key component of the Vols’ offensive in 2023. Running back Jaylen Wright’s development was greatly aided by Mack.
In addition to being Tennessee’s first 1,000-yard rusher since 2015, he filed for the NFL Draft early. Wright is a day-two prospect who will be joined in the selection process by fellow running back Jabari Small. At running back, Mack was a huge asset to the University of Tennessee. Even if he decided to go for the NFL, his presence would remain felt there.
