Danilo Gallinari, a free agent, will join the Milwaukee Bucks
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Danilo Gallinari, a free agent, will sign a contract with the Milwaukee Bucks for the remainder of the campaign.
The Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Chicago Bulls reportedly made offers to the 35-year-old Gallinari, but he finally decided on the Bucks. He will become a member of Milwaukee’s frontcourt and get the chance to work with his old coach Doc Rivers again; Rivers previously coached Gallinari in Los Angeles.
With the Clippers in the 2018–19 season, the 14-year veteran forward averaged 19.8 points per game, arguably his best basketball season, under Rivers’ tutelage.
Gallinari joins the Bucks bench that also includes Bobby Portis and Jae Crowder after spending this season alternating between the Washington Wizards and the Detroit Pistons.
Gallinari is averaging 7.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists this season while shooting 85% from the free-throw line, 45.1% from the field, and 35.5% from three-point range. With 42.8/38.2/87.6 shooting splits, his career averages are 15.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.9 threes, and 1.9 assists.
