Josh Jung, the All-Star third baseman, arrived early to camp and was taking ground balls on Friday morning when he hurt his left calf.
Photographer Noah Bullard of NBC 5 Sports was present when Jung was brought to the clubhouse.
His MRI is scheduled, according to the staff, and they are awaiting the results.
As of right now, three more Rangers will be out till the summer. After having surgery to repair his right UCL, RHP Tyler Mahle is anticipated to return in July. Due to the same issue, RHP Jacob deGrom will be sidelined until after the All-Star break. After undergoing surgery on December 15, 2023, to repair a herniated disk in his back, RHP Max Scherzer is anticipated to return in the summer.
Jung is now listed on the injury report as day-to-day.
