Breaking News: Three San Francisco 49ers Stars who may Join New Orleans Saints

Three San Francisco 49ers who might join Klint Kubiak in the Saints organization
A few players may accompany Klint Kubiak, who is leaving the San Francisco 49ers to become the offensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints.

The New Orleans Saints have signed a contract with Klint Kubiak, and he will take over as offensive coordinator. Kubiak has been an NFL coach since 2013, although his most recent role was as the 49ers’ pass game coordinator. The 49ers recently lost in the Super Bowl. Kubiak will now visit New Orleans with his expertise.

Even though the Saints’ offense already features excellent players like Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara, it’s not uncommon for players to follow assistant coaches to other teams. This implies that there’s a possibility Kubiak will bring to New Orleans a few of the skilled players from the NFC Championship squad.

Which athletes might that be? Let’s examine this.

3. Jon Feliciano, an offensive lineman for the 49ers, might join Klint Kubiak at the Saints
The offensive line is a position group that the Saints will need to improve this offseason. In 2023, the unit wasn’t all that bad, but it could have been better. It would seem prudent for New Orleans to make an investment on lineman this offseason given concerns regarding the futures of James Hurst and Andrus Peat as well as Trevor Penning’s progress.

Since joining the league in 2015, Jon Feliciano has played for the 49ers, Raiders, Buffalo Bills, and New York Giants. He participated in 16 games for San Francisco last season, starting seven of them. He ranked fourth among guards with an 85.4 PFF run-blocking grade for the year. For the Saints, that caliber of run blocking may be very beneficial.

2. 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings might go to the Saints with Klint Kubiak
After another season, wide receiver Jauan Jennings is the sixth option in San Francisco’s potent attack. Jennings concluded the year with 19 receptions for 265 yards and one score; however, the majority of his touches came from Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk.

Jennings grabbed 24 passes for 282 yards and five touchdowns in 2021, in addition to 35 receptions for 416 yards and a touchdown in the previous season.

Jennings has been able to display his brilliance despite having few opportunities. He threw a score and caught four passes for 42 yards and one touchdown in the Super Bowl, putting that on full show. Now that Jennings a free agent, there will probably be many suitors for him.

The Saints ought to be among the teams eager to grant Jennings a more significant role than the 49ers have for him. Jennings would be an excellent receiver to have with Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, especially with Michael Thomas expected to depart via free agency. Jennings’ blocking would also be very beneficial to the offense.

1. Sam Darnold,

the quarterback for the 49ers, might go to the Saints with Klint Kubiak. Sam Darnold will not start for the New Orleans Saints as the team’s quarterback; instead, Derek Carr will be the starting quarterback. But there’s a question regarding New Orleans’ QB2 spot.

Jameis Winston appears to be moving on and will be a free agent. Taysom Hill is always an option, of course, but the Saints aren’t merely relying on him as a backup quarterback. For his second season, Jake Haener is also scheduled to return, though it’s unclear how far along in his growth he is.

Sam Darnold makes sense as a backup quarterback if New Orleans decides to add one. To begin with, he will probably be acquainted with the offense Klint Kubiak intends to run. Furthermore, Darnold can be relied upon to start. Since joining the NFL in 2018, Darnold has made 56 starts. In his single season in San Francisco, he appeared in ten games, one of which he started. He completed 28 out of 46 throws (60.9%) for 297 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in those games.

His next move in his career might be to support Derek Carr in New Orleans while Klint Kubiak follows him.
