Latest News: Texas Longhorns Confirm In Final Stage Discussion To Acquire Another Top Talented Safety

Texas football makes a significant hire in a 5-star safety.
The Texas football team is getting closer to committing Faheem Delane.

Steve Sarkisian, the head coach of Texas football, has high expectations for the team, and the competitive SEC will put a lot of pressure on them. In order to make sure that the Longhorns improve on their 2017 College Football Playoff berth, he is stockpiling elite talent from both the transfer portal and the recruiting class. In 2024, the field will grow, but each elite talent has the potential to have a significant impact.
The top safety in the 2025 recruiting class, Faheem Delane, may be the next to don the traditional burnt orange and white uniform. On April 13, he will be visiting Austin as part of a team trip, according to Andrew Miller of Hook’Em Headlines. The 6-foot-2 junior from Our Lady Good Counsel High School may have the Longhorns on his short list because he has not yet scheduled an official visit with any other team for this spring.

Although Texas allowed the 13th fewest points per game in the FBS (17.5), the secondary was frequently exposed in the previous campaign. Delane is a dynamic player who could someday help the squad match up against the NCAA’s top passing assaults. In the Sugar Bowl, Michael Penix Jr. and the Washington offense tore apart the defense, making the Big 12 winners play virtually the whole second half behind.

Many people had written this squad off, but they forced themselves back into the national championship debate. Texas football must now make the next move to return to the top. Evidently, Steve Sarkisian believes Faheem Delane can play a significant role in that ascent. Regretfully, unfortunately, a number of other Power Five universities also do.
