Four-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon, hailing from Lucas Lovejoy, has recently revealed the top eight schools in contention for his recruitment, with the Texas Longhorns making the cut. The Longhorns are actively pursuing elite wide receiver prospects nationwide, and McCutcheon, who had a standout junior season with 92 catches for 1,423 yards and 19 touchdowns, is among their targets.
Lovejoy High School has a track record of producing highly productive wide receivers, including Parker Livingstone, a 2024 Texas signee. Given this history of producing top-tier talent, the Longhorns coaching staff has been consistently involved with Lovejoy.
In McCutcheon’s narrowed-down list, Texas and SMU are the only in-state programs, emphasizing the Longhorns’ appeal. Other prominent programs in the mix include Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Tennessee, Stanford, and USC.
McCutcheon holds the 11th rank among wide receiver prospects in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Furthermore, he is positioned as the 87th overall prospect in the class, underscoring his significance as a sought-after talent in the upcoming recruiting cycle.
