Highly touted offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. from Providence Day School is strongly considering taking an official visit to the University of Tennessee. Sanders has consistently maintained Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee as his top three choices over the past few months. He recently visited Clemson and has scheduled an official visit to Clemson from May 31 to June 2.
While Sanders has not finalized dates for other official visits, On3’s Chad Simmons suggests that a visit to Tennessee is likely. As Sanders approaches a decision on his college destination, it’s expected that he will soon narrow down his list of potential schools.
Sanders, an elite offensive tackle from Charlotte Providence Day, visited Clemson in January and has plans for a return visit for a spring practice. Additionally, Georgia and Tennessee are anticipated to host Sanders for their respective spring practices, and it would be surprising if official visits to these schools were not in the cards. Ohio State is another contender high on Sanders’ list, and schools like Alabama, Michigan, and North Carolina are also in the mix.
Chad Simmons emphasizes the significance of Sanders’ visits during the spring and summer, as the highly-rated prospect aims to make a decision before the start of his senior year. Sanders currently holds the impressive ranking of the No. 2 prospect in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. His successful career at Providence Day includes three consecutive state championship wins, and he played a crucial role as the primary protector for 2024 Michigan Wolverines quarterback signee Jadyn Davis.
In the context of Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class, notable prospects include George MacIntyre (QB), Justin Baker (RB), Joakim Dodson (WR), Jack VanDorselaer (TE), Dylan Lewis (CB), and Tyler Redmond (CB). The addition of Sanders would undoubtedly bolster Tennessee’s recruiting efforts for the upcoming class.
