Fans of the Eagles, pass the tissues!

Following the profoundly emotional announcement of Jason Kelce’s retirement on Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles released a unique video tribute honoring his 13 seasons as an NFL player.

The 36-year-old Jason begins the tribute by narrating some wisdom he learned about living in the now from his father, Ed Kelce.

“My dad would always tell me, play every snap like its going to be your last because you never know when that last snap is going to be,” Jason said. “You’ve really got to enjoy each and every play, and each and every moment you have; It’s made me really just appreciate being here, and my teammates, that much more.”

The emotional film features clips from Jason’s 13-year tenure with the Eagles, spanning from his 2011 rookie season to his historic 2018 Super Bowl championship celebration address.

A clip from the tribute features Jason claiming he’s “ready to prove people wrong” during a television program prior to the 2011 Draft, which was recorded when he was a prospect from Cleveland Heights High School.

In their tribute, the Eagles congratulated Jason for being “someone who really captures the essence” of what it means to be a “Philadelphia athlete” and for being “an unbelievable ambassador for the Eagles Autism Foundation”.

The nearly seven-minute video has snippets of Jason talking with Eagles supporters at various rallies and community outreach programs throughout the years.

Throughout his 40-minute address on Monday, Jason expressed his sincere gratitude to the Eagles organization.

Along with his wife Kylie, mother Donna, father Ed, and brother Travis, the father of three expressed gratitude to all of the coaches, teammates, and “cafeteria workers” who helped him along the way. He claimed there were too many to mention.

“You have no idea how perfect this is,” my agent Jason Bernstein remarked as soon as I was picked, Jason revealed. You’ll be a perfect fit here. Philadelphia is the kind of place where you will feel right at home. I reflect on a career full of highs and lows after thirteen seasons in Philadelphia.”

He went on, “You guys have no clue how many people it takes to support our players and me in this building—there are so many teammates, coaches, support personnel, trainers, equipment, and cafeteria workers. We’re going to stay here far too long for anyone to listen to me thanking everyone of you by name. If it’s okay with everyone, I will share recollections in its place. There are bound to be things I forget when I look back in the future. However, I’m positive that I won’t do these things.”
