Zander Horvath, a fullback out of Purdue, was originally selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the seventh round (260th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. The fullback was signed by the New Orleans Saints.
On Thursday, Mickey Loomis, the executive vice president and general manager of the New Orleans Saints, announced the signing of fullback Zander Horvath, pronounced Hor-voth.
The Los Angeles Chargers originally selected Horvath, 6-3, 230, out of Purdue in the seventh round (260th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. Horvath made 15 appearances during the regular season in 2022, making two starts. In addition to contributing one special teams tackle, he ran four times for eight yards and caught five catches for eight yards and two touchdowns. Horvath, a fullback/H-back, was chosen for the Pro Football Journal All-Rookie first team. The 2023 season saw the Mishawaka, Indiana native spend time on the practice squads of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chargers.
Horvath attended Purdue for four seasons (2018–21), accumulating 1,181 running yards and eight touchdowns on 268 attempts (4.4 average.) and 68 receptions for 592 yards (8.7 avg.) with one touchdown grab in 38 career games.
