Texas announces its roster for spring football
What Longhorns fans need to know about the revised roster.
The school issued an updated roster on Friday. The Texas Longhorns’ spring practice is scheduled to start on March 19 and last for slightly over a month, ending with the Orange-White game on April 20.
Observations regarding the 2024 spring roster:
Anthony Hill Jr., a sophomore linebacker, now weighs 243 pounds, nine more than he did the previous season.
DeAndre Moore Jr., a redshirt freshman wide receiver, is replacing departing tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders at No. 0 on offense after wearing No. 11 the previous season.
With a claimed weight of 194 pounds, sophomore wide receiver Johntay Cook is replacing departing wide out Xavier Worthy as the team’s top offensive option.
Matthew Golden, a junior wide receiver transferred from Houston, is listed at 6’0, 195 pounds, and he will wear number two.
Quinn Ewers, a redshirt junior quarterback, is listed at 205 pounds, 10 pounds heavier than he was the previous year.
Austin Jordan, a junior nickel back, is listed at 206 pounds, eight pounds heavier than in 2023.
Malik Muhammad, a sophomore cornerback, is listed at 191 pounds, 10 pounds higher than he was the previous year.
Ryan Wingo, a wide receiver who enrolled early, is 6’2 and 208 pounds. He will wear number five.
Defensive back Kobe Black, an early enrollee, is listed at 6’2″ and 204 pounds. He will wear number 6.
Running back Christian Clark, who enrolled early, is described at 6’0, 210 pounds, and he will also wear No. 6.
Senior nickel back Jahdae Barron will wear No. 7 instead of No. 23 in remembrance of Longhorn legend Michael Huff, who is presently the Assistant Director of Player Development, as seen in the film announcing his return.
Isaiah Bond, a wide receiver transfer from junior Alabama, is listed at 5’11, 180 pounds, and will wear No. 7 on offense.
Terrance Brooks, a junior cornerback, is listed at 209 pounds, nine pounds more than he was the previous year.
Amari Niblack, a junior transfer tight end from Alabama, is listed at 6’4″ and 231 pounds. He will wear number eight.
Running back Jerrick Gibson, an early enrollee who is 5’11 and 211 pounds, will wear number nine.

Parker Livingstone, a wide receiver who enrolled early, is listed at 6’4, 191 pounds, and he will wear No. 13.
Andrew Mukuba, a senior defensive back transfer from Clemson, is described at 6’0, 186 pounds, and he will wear number 13.
Linebacker Kendrick Blackshire, a senior transfer from Alabama, is listed as 6’2, 261 pounds, which is 28 pounds more than his weight from when he was a member of the Crimson Tide last season. He will wear number 14.
Aaron Butler, a wide receiver who enrolled early and is listed as 6’0, 168 pounds, will wear No. 14 on offense.
S’Maje Burrell, a redshirt freshman linebacker, is reported as 232 pounds, 13 pounds more than he was the previous year.
Quarterback Trey Owens, an early enrollee, is described at 6’5, 236 pounds, and will wear No. 15.
Arch Manning, a redshirt freshman quarterback, is listed at 220 pounds, eight pounds more than he was the previous year.
Savion Red, a junior running back, is reported as 240 pounds, 26 pounds more than he was the previous year.
Junior edge J’Mond Tapp weighs 255 pounds, which is 11 pounds less than he did the previous year.
Linebacker Liona Lefau, a sophomore, is classified at 218 pounds, nine pounds less than he was the previous year.
Ryan Niblett, a redshirt freshman wide receiver, is reported as 202 pounds, 19 pounds more than he was the previous year.
Zina Umeozulu, an early enrollee, is listed at 6’5 and 255 pounds. She will wear No. 19.
Safety Xavier Filsaime, an early enrollee who stands 6’1 and weighs 190 pounds, will wear No. 20.
Jaydon Blue, a junior running back, is reported as 198 pounds, seven pounds more than he was the previous year.
Defensive player Jordan Johnson-Rubell, an early enrollee who stands 5’10 and 193 pounds, will wear number 23.
Warren Roberson, a redshirt freshman cornerback, is listed at 184 pounds, nine pounds lighter than he was the previous year.
Jelani McDonald is listed at 211 pounds, 13 pounds higher than he was the previous season as a defensive back.
Linebacker Ty’Anthony Smith, an early enrollee, is listed at 6’1, 197 pounds, and he will wear number 26.
Tre Wisner, a sophomore running back, is listed at 195 pounds, 10 pounds heavier than he was the previous year.
Cornerback Wardell Mack, an early enrollee who stands 6’0 and 183 pounds, will wear No. 27.
Redshirt first-year advantage Billy Walton’s weight from the previous season went up four pounds, to 229 pounds.
UTSA junior transfer advantage Trey Moore, who will wear No. 31, is listed as 6’3, 242 pounds, which is seven pounds more than what he weighed when he was a member of the Roadrunners.
David Gbenda, a super senior linebacker, is listed at 241 pounds, 16 pounds more than he was the previous season.
Mo Blackwell Jr., a senior linebacker, is registered at 219 pounds, 11 pounds more than he was the previous year.
Vernon Broughton, a senior defensive tackle, is listed at 307 pounds, 16 pounds more than he was the previous year.
Redshirt first-year advantage With six pounds more than last season, Tausili Akana is recorded as weighing 215 pounds.
Daniel Cruz, a center who enrolled early, is listed at 6’3, 307 pounds, and will wear No. 51.
At 6’3, 332 pounds, junior guard DJ Campbell is 11 pounds lighter than he was the previous season.
Cam Williams, a junior tackle, weighs 360 pounds, nine pounds less than he did the previous season.
Max Merril, a junior guard, previously wore number 73. He is now wearing number 66.
Peyton Kirkland, a redshirt freshman offensive lineman, is recorded as weighing 366 pounds, 16 pounds more than he did the previous season.
Guard Neto Umeozulu, a sophomore, is reported as 334 pounds, 23 pounds higher than he was the previous year.
At 6’4 and 297 pounds, offensive tackle Brandon Baker is an early enrollee who will wear number 74.
Trevor Goosby, a redshirt freshman offensive tackle, weighs 313 pounds, which is 28 pounds more than he did the previous season.

Jordan Washington, a tight end who enrolled early, is listed at 6’4″ and 240 pounds. He will wear number 84.
Sydir Mitchell, a redshirt freshman nose tackle, is listed as 372 pounds, which is 37 pounds more than he was last season. He is currently wearing No. 90.
Weight of redshirt freshman edge Colton Vasek is 256 pounds, up 14 pounds from the previous campaign.
Jaray Bledsoe, a defensive tackle and sophomore, is reported at 293 pounds, 19 pounds higher than he was the previous year.
Zach Swanson, a defensive tackle and sophomore, is listed as 282 pounds, 12 pounds higher than he was the previous year.

Tia Savea, a senior defensive tackle transfer from Arizona, is listed at 6’4″, 293 pounds, and will wear number 98.
