Good News: “I will Join Alabama” Five-star Receiver Open Up Following Visit

After his visit, Alabama is’very, really high’ for five-star receiver Caleb Cunningham.
Several Top247 targets have visited Alabama for unofficial visits, talks with coaches, and an up-close look at what a regular practice looks like for the Crimson Tide during the first week of spring practice.

The guest list for Wednesday was already extremely talented, but it became much more so when two unexpected in-state prospects, four-star Auburn commit Jourdin Crawford (DL) and five-star Ohio State commit Na’eem Offord (CB), committed to other schools. Mississippi’s top prospect, five-star Caleb Cunningham, was among the group of guests anticipated.

After meeting and conversing with the nation’s top receiver during the open contact period, Bama247 reached out to him earlier this month to inquire about his impressions of receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard. “He’s a great guy and I’m ready to see him in person again and continue to build that relationship.”

Later that evening, Shephard and offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan FaceTimed Cunningham to let him know they were prepared for his commitment and that he was a top priority.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Bama247 checked in again to see how the journey was going. Though it was his first visit to campus under Kalen DeBoer’s leadership, it was his fifth time overall.
