Gus Edwards, a former Ravens running back, and the Chargers have agreed to a two-year contract, according to Adam Schefter.

In his five years in Baltimore, Edwards was never expected to start at running back, but when other players got hurt, he always seemed to be the go-to guy. When J. K. Dobbins, the starting back, tore his Achilles in Week One of the previous season, Edwards had to step up big time to take the starting job in the backfield.
Edwards is going to play for his former head coach’s brother after having a great year in which he ran for 810 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Edwards will go from one brother to the other since Jim, the brother of Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, is currently the head coach of the Chargers.

Additionally, Edwards reunites with Greg Roman, his previous offensive coordinator before he joined the Chargers. Edwards will be returning to a very familiar face in Roman, who served as the offensive coordinator for the Ravens during his first four seasons in the league.

Austin Ekeler, the star running back for the Chargers, is a free agency and doesn’t appear to be joining the team, therefore Edwards might start for Los Angeles the next season. He will have a lot of work as a running back two otherwise.

Edwards is a great addition for the Chargers and a true pro. For quarterback Justin Herbert and the rest of the offense, it might be a useful addition.
