Former Steelers Re-Sign with Ravens CB
Pittsburgh According to ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe, former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Arthur Maulet is returning to the Baltimore Ravens, where he will sign a two-year contract. In order to move across the AFC North from Pittsburgh, Maulet, 30, signed a one-year contract with the Ravens during the previous summer. He participated in 14 games, starting three of them, and finished with 37 tackles, 5 passes defensed, 1 interception, 2 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries.
During his two seasons with the Steelers, the NFL journeyman started eight games and played 33 games in the slot. In addition to two sacks, two forced fumbles, four passes defensed, and one interception, he finished with 106 tackles. His tenure with the Steelers ended abruptly when he asked to be released from the team after finding out he wouldn’t be getting a contract extension. He joined soon after and won the starting job in Baltimore after competing for it. Over the following two seasons, he will now get four more opportunities to face Pittsburgh, contributing to the AFC North rivalry on a regular basis.
