Good News: Just In Browns Confirm 3 Important signings

The Browns have signed three more free agents.
Ohio’s Cleveland — On Tuesday, the Browns formally confirmed the addition of two previously reported contracts and re-signed one of their options for the return game.

The team has officially signed defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson, cornerback Tony Brown, and wide out James Proche. Wide receiver James Proche re-signed.
After being selected by the Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2016 draft, Jefferson, who was a member of the Jets in 2023, is beginning his ninth season. Six of his 24.5 career sacks came in 14 games during the previous campaign. In addition, he has played for the Raiders and Bills.

He possesses the kind of versatility defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz looks for in his defensive linemen—the ability to play both inside and outside.

Over the course of the last two seasons in Indianapolis, including in 2022 under current Browns special teams coach Bubba Ventrone, Brown, who is in his eighth season since leaving Alabama, has established himself as a reliable special teams player. In addition, Brown, an undrafted free agent, has played with Cincinnati and Green Bay.

Mike Ford Jr., a key member of the special team and cornerback, has signed with the Texans, and the Browns are replacing him.

Proche averaged nine yards per punt return throughout the final ten games of the previous campaign as the team’s punt returner.

Nyheim Hines, a running back who has excelled as a returner throughout his career—including while playing for Ventrone in Indianapolis—was also added by the Browns.
