Buffalo Bills expand roster with talented offensive lineman and well-known meme (4 things to know)
Will Clapp would be the player Sean McDermott most definitely needed to have on the field at some time in his career.
The 28-year-old Clapp formally inked a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills on Friday. What Bills supporters should know about Clapp is as follows.
seasoned lineman
Clapp played for the New Orleans Saints (2018–2021) and the Los Angeles Chargers (2022–2023) after completing his college career at LSU. Clapp has made 21 starts in 65 appearances over his league career. In the last two seasons, Clapp has made 14 starts.
Flexible
Buffalo benefits from Clapp’s versatility in addition to his expertise. In his NFL career, Clapp has spent most of his playing time at center, although he can also play both guard positions. Given his versatility as an offensive lineman, Clapp should have no trouble securing a backup position on the Bills’ roster.
Memes and linemen combined
Because of his moniker, Clapp is not only a lineman but also a well-known meme. Memes featuring Will Clapp are widely shared on TikTok and Twitter/X.
Justin Herbert had a great time engaging with his offensive lineman and was aware of the meme. Some Bills fans celebrated getting the memes in 2024 after the deal.
acquainted with OC Joe Brady
Joe Brady, the offensive coordinator for the Bills, was the offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints during Clapp’s rookie season. It was during that season that Brady and Clapp grew close. Clapp was happy when Brady left the following year to become a coach at his old university, LSU.
Brady’s contribution to LSU’s national championship victory was just as Clapp had predicted.
